U.S. HHS Pain Management Task Force Meeting, May 2019
The United States Department of Health and Human Services recently held the third meeting of its Pain Management Task Force. This committee is developing guidance for federal agencies and congress that will affect many aspects of pain management, including opioid prescribing. In the first video below, labeled PMTF Public Meeting #3 Day 1 Part 2 features members of the public who asked to be able to provide comments to the task force. At the Pain Advocates Council, we provide unedited versions of all our information, so if you are a chronic pain sufferer who relies on opioid medication, you may disagree with some of the comments and you will strongly agree with others.
One of the Key Recommendations made by the Task Force that PAC strongly agrees with is to "Recognize chronic pain as a category of diseases." This would make treatment, including opioid medication, much easier to receive.
